North Vernon Elementary

North Vernon Elementary school is located in North Vernon Indiana and serves students who live in both Vernon and North Vernon. Our school began serving our community 50 years ago, and we continue to provide a quality education to these students. We currently educate over 600 students and have 90 staff members who dedicate their time to growing our kids.

NVE strives to provide a safe and loving environment where students get excited about learning, are challenged to be problem solvers, take ownership in their own learning, and are taught to be caring individuals so that they may be successful beyond our walls. We know that our students deserve nothing but the best and work to provide that every day.

NVE summer office hours are May 30 through June 9 from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. and July 20 through August 7 from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

A Message from Our Principal

Dear Families:

We want to congratulate our students on another wonderful year of learning and growing a NVE! Our theme this year was “Around the World in 180 Days” and we made it! Students read around the globe, took virtual field trips to other countries, and explored the ancient and natural wonders of our world all while becoming better readers, better mathematicians, and better individuals. We are so proud of our kids for what they have accomplished and who they continue to become. A huge thank you to our families and community for allowing us this year with your students. We are reminded every day what a great school community we have at NVE, and we are so appreciative that you share your children with us.

As we wrap up the 2022–23 school year, we wish our students and our community a safe and restful summer! It is time for our students to kick back a little and enjoy their days playing and being kids. As we get into summer though, don't forget to read! Taking a few minutes to read to your children each night and encouraging them to pick up a book each day will ensure that their brains stay primed for learning. Until August though, we wish our families the best as they dive into summer.

In Learning,

Nicholas Hill
